FAQ?
What ingredients are needed to make scones?
We'll help set the record straight: Scones are quick breads, and in the UK, they are generally made with milk and self-rising flour, without eggs. English scones are not glazed or frosted, and they are generally split open and spread with butter or clotted cream and jam. (Yes, please!)
What is the best scone recipe?
Some of my favorite jazzed up scone recipes include these Raspberry Rose Scones, Double Chocolate Scones, and Cinnamon Peanut Butter Chip Scones with Maple Bacon Glaze. There’s just nothing better than a freshly baked scone, warm from the oven, with a hot cup of tea, coffee, or cocoa!
How do you make scones from scratch?
Divide dough into two balls. Press dough out to 8 inches on a floured work surface. Cut into 8 triangles. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-24 minutes, turning half way for even baking. Scones are done when tops of scones bounce back when pressed.
